Chasm
Entertainment was formed in 2001 by founding partners
Albert Banuelos, Alex Escobar, Cheryl Heath, and Robert
Roig. Unified by their common vision to create a conscious-oriented,
independent record label, the members of Chasm bonded
over the desire to supply the industry with distinctive,
responsible music. Since the formation of Chasm, the
company has incorporated and is now known as Chasm Entertainment,
LLC, naming Albert Banuelos as CEO, Robert Roig as President,
Cheryl Heath as Vice President, and Brian Ford (Setram
Music) as VP of A&R.
During
the development of Chasm Entertainment, LLC, a recording
studio has also been established. The studio not only
serves as a creative melting pot of talent and skill,
but also offers independent artists, producers, and
their partners a “home.” Chasm’s studio
is a well-equipped digital recording studio that functions
primarily with Cubase SX and Reason 2.5. The studio’s
creative atmosphere is enhanced by a formal reception
area, a lounge inspired by southern jazz culture, and
a large production room.
Following
the company’s view of producing responsible music,
Chasm was hand selected to work with the students of
186th Street School in Gardena, CA. The project allowed
a small group of aspiring young artists to work closely
with professional writers and talented producer Brian
Ford of Setram Music to create a hip-hop album for their
community. The children completed the recording process
in the Chasm studio, the product of which was a very
powerful, heart-warming album entitled, “Love
the Kids…Voices of 186th Street School.”

In
2004, Chasm Entertainment agreed to collaborate with
Setram Music to assist its promotions, manufacturing,
and distribution of the upcoming “Go Gettaz”
EP, as well as several impending solo projects (visit

for more information). The joint venture has created
a solid business foundation in an attempt to launch
the careers of all artists involved and impact the music
industry as no other label has. |
